This article is one in a series of a daily accountings of Colden Store transactions. Be sure you read the first installment for an introduction to the store. You should also read this article which appeared in the Journal of the Orange County Historical Society.

The Bodine surname appears in the DayBook 64 times. William appears 14 times. On today's visit he purchased only the knives and forks - no additional items.

Forks were always purchased together with knives at the store. And they were always purchased in sets of three (just as were cups and saucers.) The nine purchases in the prior six month are shown below.

Knives on the other hand were often purchased as a solitary item. The following sales in the prior six months and their quanities are: Draw Knife (5), Shoe Knife (2), Small Knife (2), Pen Knife (2), and just a plain Knife (36).

Oddly there is only one sale of spoons in the prior six months. On January 20, 1768, Ambrose Jones purchased six spoons.
